MHD-ROCKLAND has donated four DC-8 main landing gear wheels and tire assemblies to the University of the District of Columbia Community College’s FAA 147 Aviation Maintenance Technology School. The donated components will assist in teaching students how to safely service, remove and replace landing gear component parts on large commercial aircraft. This will really increase the realism and training utility for students. The wheels are mounted and ready for the students when classes resume post COVID-19.
“I can’t wait for our students to come back to school so that they can gain first hand experience of removing and reinstalling large commercial aircraft wheels and brakes! Very few AMT schools have this kind of resource” – Bill Russo, Aviation Program Director at UDC-CC.
MHD-Rockland is proud to support the community and next generation of maintenance crew members.
Our thoughts are with the people affected and everyone working around the clock to help those in need. We wish everyone good health and strength in these challenging times.
